Moovs is a capable modern platform, and plenty of small operators are perfectly happy on it. The operators who reach out to us about migrating usually share one profile: the fleet grew a little, the team grew a little, and the bill grew a lot — because seats, plan tiers and add-ons all move at the same time. If you have hit that point, here is exactly what switching involves.
The honest reasons operators move
- Per-seat pricing. Adding a second dispatcher or an office admin should not change your software bill materially, but on seat-based plans it does.
- Tier jumps. One feature you need sits one plan up, and the step is often larger than the feature is worth at 4–10 vehicles.
- App ownership. Operators increasingly want passenger and driver apps listed under their own Apple and Google developer accounts, so the listings and reviews belong to the business.
- Website control. A widget on someone else's page converts differently from a fully branded booking website you own outright.
- Predictability. Fixed published pricing means you can quote your own corporate contracts knowing your cost base three years out.
Free migration, done for you
Send us your CSV exports and we import customers, addresses, vehicles, drivers, rate rules and open reservations at no charge. Most 1–25 vehicle operators are live in 7–14 days.
What moves, and what has to be rebuilt
| Asset | Moves? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Customers and saved addresses | Yes | CSV import, free |
| Vehicles, classes, drivers | Yes | With documents and expiry tracking |
| Pricing and rate rules | Rebuilt | Hourly, transfer, airport zones, surcharges |
| Upcoming and recurring trips | Yes | Imported before cutover |
| Trip history | Yes | Export 12–24 months |
| Stripe / PayPal account | Yes | Stays in your name, reconnected directly |
| Website booking widget | Replaced | New branded booking site or embedded flow |
| App store listings | Rebuilt | Published under your own developer accounts |
The 14-day migration timeline
- Days 1–2 — export. Pull customers, saved addresses, vehicles, drivers, rate rules, corporate accounts and open reservations to CSV. Also export your last 12 months of completed trips so you keep your reporting history.
- Days 3–5 — build. We import the data, configure vehicle classes, hourly and point-to-point rates, airport zones, gratuity, tolls, wait time and surcharge rules, and brand your booking website.
- Days 6–9 — apps and payments. Passenger and driver apps are submitted under your Apple and Google developer accounts. Stripe or PayPal is connected to your own merchant account.
- Days 10–12 — parallel run. One shift, or one vehicle class, runs on the new platform alongside the old one while drivers and dispatchers get comfortable. Nothing is switched off yet.
- Days 13–14 — cutover. Booking links, QR codes, email signatures and the phone workflow point to the new system. You cancel the old subscription only after the final invoice cycle closes.
Pre-migration checklist
- Export every data set to CSV before you give notice — access can end with the billing cycle.
- Screenshot or export your rate rules, surcharges and airport zone logic; these rarely export cleanly anywhere.
- List every place your old booking link appears: website, Google Business Profile, email signatures, QR codes, printed cards, hotel partners.
- Note recurring and future-dated reservations past the cutover date — these must be re-entered or imported.
- Save your corporate account terms, cost centres and invoice templates.
- Tell drivers a week ahead and run one training session; driver resistance, not data, is what delays migrations.
- Keep read-only access to the old system for 30 days after cutover if the contract allows it.
Three-year cost after migrating, seven vehicles
| Line item | Taxi Web Design (Premium) | Typical seat-based SaaS |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | $699 one-time | $0 – $1,000 |
| Platform fee (36 months) | $1,080 | $3,500 – $9,000 |
| Extra dispatcher / admin seats | $0 | Commonly $20 – $60 per seat/mo |
| Branded passenger + driver apps | Included | Often plan-gated or add-on |
| Branded booking website | Included | Widget only, or separate build |
| Per-trip fee | $0 | Varies by plan |
| Indicative 3-year total | ~$1,779 | $5,000 – $15,000+ |
Indicative ranges only — always ask for your own 36-month total in writing with every line item named, from us and from any vendor you compare.
Migration risks worth planning for
- Recurring corporate trips. Standing weekly airport runs are the easiest thing to lose. List them manually and verify each one after import.
- Driver app adoption. Install the new driver app on every phone during the parallel run, not on cutover morning.
- Payment method re-entry. Stored cards generally cannot transfer between platforms for PCI reasons. Plan a re-authorisation email to your corporate accounts.
- SEO and links. If your booking page URL changes, add a 301 redirect so Google and your partners keep working.
- Final invoice. Cancel only after the cycle closes and your data is verified in the new system.
Who should not migrate
If you are running one vehicle, spending very little, and everything works, there is no urgency. If you rely heavily on a specific integration you have already built workflows around, check it exists on the new platform before you move. And if you are above 25 vehicles with multi-branch operations and dedicated reservationists, look at our Enterprise tier or a genuine enterprise suite rather than the fixed monthly tiers.

The bottom line
Migrating from Moovs is a two-week, low-risk project when you export first, run in parallel and cut over only once the new system has taken real bookings. What you gain is fixed published pricing, unlimited team seats, branded apps in your own name and a booking website you own.
